Project: The role of cytoskeleton dynamics in intimal and medial calcification

PI: Claudia Goettsch

Detailed underlying mechanisms of intimal and medial vascular calcification, a main cause of cardiovascular death, remain unclear. Preliminary results show differentially expressed genes involved in the cytoskeleton of calcified vascular smooth muscle cells. This project aims to investigate the role of cytoskeleton dynamics in particular actin polymerization in in vitro intimal and medial calcification.
