Project title: Characterisation or renal microvasculature in chronic kidney disease
PI: Peter Boor, Jürgen Floege
In renal fibrosis, the pathologic hallmark of chronic kidney disease (CKD), peritubular capillaries (PTC) undergo ultrastructural and functional alterations and show increased permeability and rarefaction. The analyses of these alterations on morphological, molecular and functional level, the focus of our project, could bring novel insights into the pathophysiology of kidney disease progression.
