Project: Calcium Sensing Receptor (CaSR), a novel player in atherosclerosis ?

PI: Emiel P.C van der Vorst

Calcium Sensing Receptor (CaSR) is expressed on the surface of cells and as the name suggests senses and is essential for maintaining calcium homeostasis in the human body. The presence of this receptor on the surface of vascular and hematopoietic cells has been well studied. This project aims to understand the role of the receptor in atherosclerosis and atherogenesis.
