On 22 November 2019 Prof Peter Boor received the Bernd Tersteegen-Award during the annual meeting of the Association of German Nephrology Centers in Frankfurt am Main.
This prize is awarded internationally by the Association of German Nephrology Centers for basic and particularly for clinical research related to chronic renal insufficiency and to advances in treatment of end stage renal disease. Prof Boor received this award for his work on non-invasive imaging of kidney scarring. Currently kidney damage can only be determined through a biopsy which is highly invasive for patients. This method has therefore, great potential to improve the diagnosis and the management of kidney patients. We congratulate Prof. Boor with this award!
