Scientific Talk by Jamila-Cate Tran

We were delighted to welcome Jamila-Cate Tran from Hannover Medical School for a scientific talk in our SFB/TRR219 consortium at the University Hospital of Aachen. Ms. Tran presented her work, Clinical effectiveness of SGLT2 inhibitors in non-diabetic kidney transplant patients – a real-world data analysis, followed by valuable discussions.

Although Ms. Tran (age 20) will only begin her medical studies this October, she has already completed a voluntary scientific year to work on her project. We were particularly impressed by the depth of her scientific background and maturity, demonstrating exceptional dedication to research at a remarkably early stage of her academic career.

Ms. Tran recently received the National First Prize in Biology at the Jugend forscht competition, as well as the Europa Prize awarded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). With this, she qualified to represent Germany at the European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS), which will be held in Kiel from 22–27 September 2026.
