Peer-to-peer (P2P) program SFB-TRR219

8 November 2018

On November 8th we successfully started our peer-to-peer mentoring program in Aachen. Within this program PhD an MD students from Aachen working at topics related to the SBF TRR219 come together for training and networking. In this way we create a platform, where doctoral students get to know each other, get some training in new/unknown methods or soft skills and start to collaborate closely.

Thus we can discuss project relevant questions, methods or new research results in small groups and have constructive exchange to improve the connection between the different working groups. In November we started with a kick-off meeting, at which we talked about the concerns of PhD/MD students within the consortium and prepared topics for our next meetings. At a socializing event in December we met at the atmospheric Christmas market to get to know each other better and to deepen future collaborations. The upcoming meetings, starting in January 2019, will be held regularly and deal with topics like doctoral regulations in January and statistics in March. Some further topics are planned but not yet terminated, like literature database search and working with Photoshop and Illustrator.
